AN OLD WALNUT SLAB
had been gathering dust in my friend Mark's garage. Fifteen years old, yet still pristine was his vision of a Strat-style guitar emerging from its gnarly visage. I whittled away at the straightest part for a neck and the swirliest part for the body, added some Mountain Mahogany for a fretboard and headstock, inserted a set of Kinman pickups and his old slightly-rusty bridge, and his vision became reality. And it rocks.
